The Apple-Turtle Conundrum

This is just a bit of BS, but its totally made my night, so here goes.....

SO, in the comments for the previous blog, Tristan said:

"Never been a Family-Guyer myself, but a friend has made it his life's purpose to prove that it is better than LOST (rubbish, imho). I emailed him the link just for the awesome-ness of the coincidence."

Now, I happen to be a huge Family Guy fan. In fact, I have watched seasons 5 and 6 in their entirety in the past three days. However, when reading this comment, I was reminded of an old saying I made up. My response was going to be:

"Family Guy....is better....than Lost? That's like trying to compare apples and turtles." Apples and turtles was the old line. Upon second thought, I decided that I needed something even crazier to give my statement the punch I wanted it to have. This prompted me to ask Josh and a friend of mine possibly the best question I have ever asked anyone:

"Whats something that's even less like an apple than a turtle?"

Answers included: emus, rocks, a bottle of ear medicine, a semi-retarded racehorse, a Boeing 747, the Geico Gecko, cinnamon toast crunch, and advanced particle physics.

Post your answers in the comments to this blog : what's something that's even less like an apple than a turtle? Best answer will be posted on a blog and mentioned in the podcast, not to mention I will probably quote it forever and ever, amen.

Go.

Jeez, I'm surprised there have been no responses. Semi-retarded racehorse and advanced particle physics both have a nice ring to them, but by request, I'll go ahead and throw a few things into the mix.

A homeless parakeet, Chuck Norris, a '56 Pontiac, and a RADIO TOWER?!?!?!

Plus, my failed attempt at LOST opening credits (I spelled Ken Leung wrong), available here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YuRK5NseKw0

So, I'm acknowleadging that I definitely use this joke FAR too much, but how could you leave out my personal favourite?

I'm, of course, referring to MONTAND's ARM!

Oh yeah, and I mentioned these two in the chat: the Large Hadron Collider and a glowing, blue penis.

Still waiting on that FLASHLIGHT post.

Holy. Freaking. Crap. Epic finale title.

Tristan said...

Like what the title entails, but not the titles itself.

Hey, what's that website of lists you guys were taking about last week?

Amanda Leigh said...

WWW.SPORCLE.COM =D

Tristan said...

Ah. Went back and listened to the podcast. Now i know why 'sporkle.com' was taking WAAAAAY too long to load.

Amanda Leigh said...

Lol, that's what I thought, too XD

Josh and Amanda, I am going to kill you.

Overaddicted to sporcle, it's scary. Today, I used it more than Twitter, which is saying something BIG. My mum (who's not quite as awesome as Aamnda's Mom (TM), but is still fairly interesting) also got into it, and we've been on it all night.

Anyhow, just wanted to say that I'm disappointed you guys had such a short episode today :(.

Anyhow, I may or may not be back in the chat in the two episodes following April 5th, but until then, I'm REALLY hoping an episode is so amazing you go for 2 1/2 hours. Which, I know, is like, super-unlikely.

Tristan said...

apologies for overuse of the word anyhow :).

Gee, I'd better stop using this as a proxy for twitter :)

See what happens when we're not on Twitter simultaneously!

And Sporcle is QUITE addicting. Surprisingly, I was able to list all the X-Men but not all of the states. *facepalm*

Somehow came up with this theory, which I KNOW is wrong due to age discrepancies, but what if Sawyer and Juliet gave birth to Sawyer himself? Paradox!!!!

Anonymous said...

BTW, above not meant to be taken seriously.

Here's two theories: Both involve Sawyer and Juliet having a kid. They may have a kid and I think, if it were to happen, it would be one of two people. Either Libby, whose history is unknown to us, so it could make since, or Karl, who is the perfect age. Libby is probably not it because Lostpedia says she was born in 1967, but I still thought it would be cool. Karl is a lot more likely because of his age and that I seem to remember Sawyer always acting like a father-figure to him (like giving him girl advice in... SIASL? I'm not entirely sure on which episode it was).

I have an itching feeling what your guys' reaction to the HEROES episode will be. Hopefully a positive one, although I sense a gripe in the wink.
